Thursday afternoon marked what some may say is the beginning of the Lone Star Conference football season as the league held their annual media day.
The Tarleton Texans were represented by wide receiver Bubba Tandy, defensive end Chase Varnado and first-year head coach Todd Whitten.
The conference as a whole predicts the Texans to finish seventh in the league which has ten teams this season after the addition of the University of Texas Permian Basin, Western New Mexico and Oklahoma Panhandle State.
The full preseason rankings included Texas A&M-Commerce slated as conference champions. Midwestern State is predicted to finish second followed by Angelo State, West Texas A&M, Eastern New Mexico, Texas A&M-Kingsville, the Texans, Western New Mexico, Oklahoma Panhandle State and Texas Permian Basin.
The Texans begin their season on September 3 with a road trip against McNeese St.
