Online magazine WideOpenCountry.com has picked Peacock’s Restaurants as one of the “Ten Small Restaurants in Texas You Need to Try.”
Peacock’s came in at No. 6 and the magazine says, “Peacock’s is a breakfast and brunch cafe. It is the perfect place to stop if you’re traveling through the small town of Stephenville, or if you’re dropping your kid off for their first semester at Tarleton State University.”
It also posted Peacock’s diner Katheryn Moore’s comment: “Homey atmosphere, best biscuits and gravy EVER! You can get lunch and dinner there, but I always order off the breakfast menu, regardless of the time of day.”
Judy Bissonnette is the long-time general manager of the two Peacock’s locations in Stephenville – the original one at 1615 W. South Loop that’s been there for 45 years, and the other at 1700 W. Lingleville Road that opened in 1988.
"It was a surprise, but of course we’re very pleased and proud to be selected. We always aim to please our customers and we’re always trying to improve," Bissonnette said. “Hopefully this just lets everybody know that we’re trying our best and the people at WideOpenCountry.com think we’re doing something right.”
