While the season is still more than a month away, the football teams of the Lone Star Conference will congregate today in Odessa to take part in the annual LSC Football Preseason Media Day.
All 10 head football coaches will be in attendance for the luncheon, including new Tarleton head coach Todd Whitten and LSC newcomer UT-Permian Basin’s Justin Carrigan.
During the event, league officials will announce the preseason poll for the conference and also the players of the year.
The season is scheduled to kick off on Sept. 1 and the LSC is welcoming three new teams including UTPB, Western New Mexico and Oklahoma Panhandle State. Every team in the conference will play nine conference games to determine the LSC Champion.
Last season the Texans finished with a 3-7 record and will begin the 2016 season with a road trip to McNeese State on Sept. 3 with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m.
