Dublin Police Chief Michael Jennings addressed the city council Monday to acknowledge that the city’s police department has received an award from the North Central Texas Council of Governments.
“The NCTCOG 911 Program is celebrating 25 years of service and is recognizing Dublin Police Department for their commitment of 911 excellence during the 25 years of service," Jennings said.
NCTCOG is a voluntary association for local governments that was established to assist in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development.
NCTCOG's primary purpose is to strengthen the individual and collective power of local governments and to help them recognize regional opportunities, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and make joint decisions.
The organization serves a 16-county region of North Central Texas centering around Dallas and Fort Worth and has over 230 member governments including 16 counties, numerous cities, school districts, and special districts.
