The opening of a new restaurant at the old Fiddle Creek building has been postponed indefinitely, according to Bucki Rogers, marketing/public relations director for Hoffbrau Restaurants.

“We are moving forward, but can’t confirm when construction will start or when the restaurant will open,” Rogers said Monday. “We are working on our brand and that’s been the holdup.”

Construction on the restaurant was first set to begin in May with a September opening, then was postponed until June with an October opening.

But now, as weeds grow taller outside the vacant building, the date for the long-anticipated opening of the steakhouse is nowhere in sight.

Michael Henderson, a local investor with Highway 377, LLC., has said the name of the restaurant will be announced as the opening gets close. He did confirm Monday that plans to open are still on the table.

The steakhouse is expected to include 5,000 square feet of indoor seating and a bar, as well as an additional 4,500 square feet of outdoor garden seating.
