The Stephenville City Council will meet this evening and topping the agenda is a proclamation by Mayor Kenny Weldon declaring July as National Parks and Recreation Month.
The proclamation will include a salute to the Stephenville Parks and Recreational Advisory Board, and the E-T will cover the content of the document in depth on Wednesday.
That will be followed by the annual report of the Erath County Humane Society delivered by Matt Harpole, president, and Diane McCoy, executive director. As many Erath County residents are well aware, the Humane Society is a vital cog in control, safety and wellbeing of both animals and people in our area.
The other major agenda item will be the first report by newly-hired Stephenville Economic Development Authority Executive Director, John Hubbard.
Hubbard brings vast experience in the area of economic development, which has been at the forefront of the city council for several terms.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers.
