There are many factors that go in to the pay scale of a substitute teacher including what subject they’re teaching or position they’ll take on, whether the sub will be there long-term or not and whether or not the substitute has his or her teaching certification. In order for a sub to be considered long term, they must teach 16 or more consecutive days. Here is a breakdown of Stephenville ISD’s substitute pay scale.

Substitute Teachers:

Teacher certified or degreed - $70 daily

Teacher non-certified/non-degreed - $60 daily

Life Skills certified/degreed/non-degreed - $70 daily

Behavior Unit certified or degreed - $80 daily

Behavior Unit non-certified/non-degreed - $70 daily

Long Term Substitute Teacher:

Certified or degreed - $90 daily

Non-certified/non-degreed - $70 daily

Long term Behavior Unit certified or degreed - $90 daily

Long term DAEP certified or degreed - $90 daily

Substitute Aides (long term pay does not apply):

Paraprofessionals (secretaries, clerks, aides, administrative support) - $60 daily

Life Skills class aide - $70 daily

PPCD class aide - $70 daily

Behavior Unit aide - $70 daily

ISS aide - $70 daily

Nurses (pay based on substitute’s license):

RN license - $70 daily

LVN license - $60 daily

Substitute Teacher DAEP:

Certified or degreed - $80 daily

Non-certified/non-degreed - $70 daily

Tutors:

Full day (8 hours) - $160

Half day (4 hours) - $80

Hourly Employees:

Child Nutrition - $7.50 hourly

Bus driver - $11 hourly

Bus driver aide - $9 hourly

Junior high football, volleyball, basketball (per game) - $15 hourly

High school volleyball, basketball (per game) - $15 hourly

High school football, soccer, baseball (per game) - $20 hourly

Ticket takers - $30 hourly

Ticket sellers - $40 hourly

Maintenance (student) - $7.50 hourly

Technology (student) - $7.50 hourly

Clerical support (student) - $7.50 hourly

SAC/DHall/Saturday School/Homebound:

Teacher/Degreed+ - $20 hourly

Paraprofessional (given Comp Time up to 40 hours in a week. If over 40 hours, overtime will be paid)

College students (approved through HR department) - $15 hourly
