For the 4th consecutive year on Memorial Day, dozens of Walmart shoppers were treated to free hot dogs provided by Walmart in Stephenville and served by Turnbow-Higgs American Legion Post 240 legionnaires.

The event is held each year following the annual Memorial Day Ceremony on the third Monday in May at West Memorial Cemetery, The Veterans Field of Honor.

That ceremony was held earlier Monday morning and attended by a crowd of over 100 people.

About the free hot dog event Post Adjutant, Roger Easter said, “Post 240 is pleased to join each year with store manager Terry Draper and all the wonderful Walmart employees − especially Kim Ratliff − in sharing this Memorial Day Awareness event with the citizens of The Cross Timbers areas.”

Joining the legionnaires this year at the opposite entrance to the store were several ladies of the Post’s Auxiliary Unit 240 distributing the traditional Remembrance Poppy Flower to Walmart shoppers.
