If you love playing “Texas 42,” you won’t want to miss your chance to play with some of the best in Erath County on June 3-4 at the Stephenville Senior Citizen Center.

The TGIF Forty-Two Domino Club is hosting a tournament starting at 1 p.m. Friday, June 3, and continuing the next day at 9:30 a.m. and it’s open to the public.

In case you aren’t familiar with 42, it’s not like the regular game of dominos.

According to Domino-Games.com, “Texas 42, or Forty-Two (or ‘42’), is a domino game that is played like a card game. In fact, unlike most domino games, there is no connecting of dominoes at all.

“The object of the game is to win tricks; 42 is a bidding game. Forty-Two is based on the card game Auction Pitch, and requires considerable skill in bidding and gameplay. Other names for this game include ‘Four-Hand Texas’ and ‘Domino Rounce’.

“42 can be played by up to seven players, but it is best as four-handed partnership game.”

Entry fee is $10 per player and entry forms are available at the Senior Center, located at 164 East College Street.

Those forms need to be filled out and turned in to Jan Smith or Edith Stanfield at the center no later than June 1 and no late entries will be accepted.

For more information, call Smith at 512-731-2413.
