It was a successful day for both the Stephenville track teams Wednesday as they hosted the district 6-4A meet and will send a slew of competitors to the area meet after several great showings. 

For the Yellow Jackets, Josh Nowell once again established himself as the best field event individual in the district as he advanced to the area meet in three field events. 

Powell placed placed third in the triple jump and also took home gold in the long and high jump. He won the long jump by seven inches after posting a jump of 21 feet and 10 inches and clinched the high jump hitting six feet. 

While Nowell stood out for the Yellow Jackets, Hailey Martin also had an outstanding day as she took home some silverware as well. 

Martin placed first in the triple and long jumps, going 36 feet and four inches in the triple and 17 feet in the long. 

The Yellow Jackets placed fifth in the meet with 74 points, while the Honeybees placed second behind Brownwood with 146 points.
