The Erath County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Jeffrey Don Champion who is accused of credit/debit card abuse; a state jail felony.

Champion was issued an outstanding felony arrest warrant and the sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in locating him.

“The sheriff’s office would like to encourage Mr. Champion to turn himself in to our facilities, we are sure to have an available cell should he not be able to provide the $30,000 bond that would be required for his release,” Lt. Bobby Mendez wrote in a release. “Even though we would prefer Mr. Champion turn himself in, if you have any information about his whereabouts, we have deputies that would be glad to arrange transportation for him.”

The sheriff’s office asks anyone with information to contact their office at 254-965-3318 or Erath County Crime Stoppers at 254-965-2274.

“As with all other cases, Mr. Champion is not guilty just because he has outstanding warrants, he is innocent until proven guilty by a jury of his peers,” Mendez wrote. “We are simply asking for information on his whereabouts to provide him the opportunity to sit before that jury in a court of law.”
