Tarleton State University has experienced its highest spring semester enrollment ever, up 5.6 percent from the spring semester of 2015.

Preliminary numbers are based on the 20th class day report.

Spring 2016 semester headcounts by Tarleton location are:

• Stephenville – 8,237, up 5 percent,

• Fort Worth – 1,732, up 8 percent,

• Waco – 992, up 10.3 percent,

• Midlothian – 283, up 5.6 percent,

• Global Campus – 576, up 3.4 percent.

“These numbers are a testament to Tarleton’s reputation as a student-focused university and a continuation of the momentum we’ve seen over the last few years,” said Tarleton President Dr. F. Dominic Dottavio. “We take great pride in providing a real-world, high-quality educational experience at an affordable price.”

Increases in the number of returning students indicates that Tarleton’s retention rates continue to climb, Dottavio noted. Retention of the First Time in College Cohort (FTIC) from fall 2015 to spring 2016 is 89 percent, up from 85.62 percent a year ago.
