Mary Beth was born in Houston, on July 22, 1941, to Grady Edgar Daniels “Pops” and Dorothy Shepard Daniels “DD.” She and her sister Linda spent their school years in Stephenville, Texas. Mary Beth often recalled her favorite part of childhood was being a big sister to Linda. She was involved in drama, enjoying being a Stingerette and participating in many church programs.
Mary Beth met Truman Bridges at Tarleton College. They were married on September 1, 1962. She finished her university degree at the University of Texas El Paso. They welcomed their first son, Tommy in 1963, their second son, Jimmy in ‘65 and their daughter Becky in ‘66. Throughout her career Mary Beth was a teacher, first at an Indian reservation in New Mexico, then in schools across Texas. In 1972, the family moved and raised the children in Groom, Texas. While there, she continued to teach and completed her Master of Education Degree at West Texas State University. In 1985, Truman and Mary Beth moved to Granbury, and were active at Acton Baptist Church. In 2016 Mary Beth moved to San Antonio to be closer to her daughter.
Mary Beth went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2023. Her services were held at Acton Cemetery on January 12. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Truman and son, Tommy. They surely had quite a reunion in heaven. She is survived by her sister, Linda (Daniels) Allison, daughter, Rebecca Dinnin, her son James and two granddaughters Sarah (Bridges) Sills and Brittany (Bridges) Gobbell.
