Peach and blackberry cobbler

This is a fun summer dessert and delicious too. Enjoy! 

1 stick of butter, melted

4 peaches, peeled, pitted and sliced

1 1/2 cups fresh blackberries 

2 cups sugar

1/2 cup water

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/4 cups milk

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 

Add butter to 3-quart baking dish and place in the oven just until the butter melts. Then remove from oven and set aside. 

In medium saucepan, combine peaches, blackberries, one cup of sugar and water and mix well. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer, cook for 10 minutes, until peaches and blackberries are soft and the liquid like syrup. 

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and remaining sugar. Slowly whisk in the milk and cinnamon, mixing until smooth. 

Pour batter over the butter in the baking dish and then spoon the fruit and syrup on top. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Serve warm and with a scoop of ice cream.
