Callie, a two-year-old boxer mix, is this week’s featured pet from the Erath County Humane Society.

“She’s spayed and is current on her vaccinations,” said Diane McCoy, executive director of the ECHS, said. “She’s good with other dogs and kids, but not livestock. She was adopted by a family that just loved her, but she wanted to chase their livestock so they had to bring her back.”

Callie loves to run and play, is curious and a little bit of an escape artist.

"So her owners need to have a very good fence,” McCoy said. “She’s pretty good on a leash, too.

“Callie is heartworm positive, which is something that’s much easier to treat and not as expensive as it used to be. There are a lot of options for taking care of that these days, and it won’t cost an arm and a leg. Otherwise she’s a very healthy, active dog and a real sweetheart.”
