Emilie Claire Woerner

FORT WORTH – Emilie Claire Woerner, 29, passed away suddenly on August 3, 2022, after completing a routine indoor running workout.  She was born September 22, 1992, to Hadley and Crystal (Haby) Woerner in Kerrville, Texas.

Celebration of Life: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10 at Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth followed by interment in Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Family Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9 at Greenwood in Fort Worth.

Emilie grew up in Stephenville, Texas, graduating from Stephenville High School in 2011.  An avid fitness buff and competitor, she participated and excelled in basketball, volleyball, cross-country, track and tennis.  She attended Baylor University where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, and graduated in 2015 with a degree in marketing from the Hankamer School of Business.  Her college internships at Standard Meat Company and the Penrose Group in Fort Worth were driven by an attraction to the food industry and culinary interests, but she chose to start her career developing sales skills with the Sewell Automotive Group as a sales associate at Sewell Lexus in Dallas.  Two years later, her desire to make a difference and get involved in the community led her to the Cook Children’s Health Foundation in Fort Worth, where she was the Special Events Fundraising Coordinator.  In 2020, her community engagement, networking and sales skills led to an opportunity to join Bank of Texas’ Accelerated Career Track training program, specifically in Private Banking and Wealth Management.  In May, 2022, she joined Frost Bank in Dallas as a Private Banking Officer on their expansion team.

Emilie was a thoughtful, generous person who would light up a room with her engaging personality, connecting people and building relationships that turned into countless friendships she maintained through the years. She was active in many community activities, including serving on committees for the Davey O’Brien Foundation’s Football Kickoff Tailgate event, and the Baylor Scott & White All Saints Heath Foundation’s Beyond the Bag event.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Perry and Bernice Woerner; and uncle, Rene Woerner, all of Fredericksburg.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Allison and Matt Carroll and nephew, Jack Haby Carroll, all of Fort Worth; maternal grandparents, George and Brenda Haby of Leakey; best friend and boyfriend, Hayden Hezmall; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cook Children’s Health Foundation, Fort Worth.
