Texan Football tickets at Baylor now on sale

STEPHENVILLE — With just under three months until Tarleton State heads to Waco to take on the Baylor Bears, tickets are now on sale for the highly anticipated matchup. Tarleton State has a limited number of tickets available for the Texan Football game at Baylor, which is set for Saturday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. at McLane Stadium in Waco. Tickets are $25 and will be available for pick-up at Tarleton's Memorial Stadium before game day, or at the McLane Stadium ticket box office located by Gate B on game day. No e-tickets will be available. The McLane Stadium ticket box office will open 90 minutes prior to game time. McLane Stadium is assigned seating. The earlier fans order their tickets, the better seat they will have. After ordering, the Tarleton Athletics Ticket Staff will reach out to the purchaser to notify when tickets can be picked up. This is the third straight year that Tarleton State Football will face a Power Five conference opponent. The Texans played at Texas Tech last season, a year after facing TCU in Fort Worth. Tarleton State football home opener time announced

STEPHENVILLE — Plans can officially be made surrounding the Tarleton State Football 2024 season opener, as the kickoff time and broadcast details were announced on Thursday. Tarleton State's home opener against McNeese will kick off at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 24 at Memorial Stadium. This will be a nationally broadcast game on ESPNU, the first time Texan Football will play on linear television on the ESPN family of networks. The matchup between the Texans and Cowboys is one of just seven Week 0 games across NCAA Division I between FBS and FCS. Tarleton State was previously scheduled to host its home opener on Sept. 14 against McNeese, but the event date was changed to Aug. 24, announced on May 15. Tarleton State University begins classes on Aug. 22, so students will need to wait just a couple of days before packing Memorial Stadium. Tarleton State will launch a campaign soon to sell out Memorial Stadium and create one of the best gameday atmospheres in Texan Football history. Tarleton baseball wins WAC Tournament

MESA, Arizona — Tarleton State Baseball has done the improbable, the impossible, the unfeasible — win a conference tournament during NCAA Division I reclassification. The Texans won the WAC Tournament in Mesa, Arizona, on Saturday night to become the first baseball program to win a conference tournament during NCAA Division I reclassification.

Texans sign former ASC Player of the Year

STEPHENVILLE — The Texans strengthened their backcourt by signing former American Southwest Conference Player of the Year and the reigning ASC Defensive Player of the Year, Arieona Rosborough. The Texans announced Rosborough's signing on Wednesday, bringing in the guard who spent the past three seasons at Mary Hardin-Baylor. Rosborough earned many honors with her time at UMHB, including three times being named ASC All-Conference First Team, ASC Player of the Year, ASC Defensive Player of the Year, twice named to ASC All-Conference Defensive Team, ASC Freshman of the Year, Dave Campbell's Texas Basketball Non-DI All-Texas Defensive Player of the Year, WBCA All-America Honorable Mention, and D3hoops.com First Team All-Region. "We are excited that Arieona has decided to finish her career at Tarleton State." said head coach Bill Brock. "She is a mature and proven player that has experienced a great deal of success during the past three seasons. Arieona's athleticism, quickness, and ability to defend on the perimeter will make us a better team next season." In 80 games played (74 starts) for the Cru, she averaged 15.1 points, eclipsing the 1,000-point mark by scoring 1,210 career points. She also averaged 6.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.0 steals in 26.1 minutes per game. Rosborough was named the conference player of the year her sophomore season, but had an even more stellar campaign this past year. Last season she averaged 19.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.2 steals in 24 games (23 starts). She led the conference in scoring and was top-10 in rebounding. In 2023-24, Rosborough led the Cru to a 21-7 record overal1, 12-4 in conference play and a trip to the NCAA Division III Championships. She scored 20-plus points 12 times, including three 30-point performances, led by a career-high 36-point outing at McMurry on Jan. 13. She added nine rebounds, six assists and four steals in that game. Across Rosborough's three years at Mary Hardin-Baylor, the Cru went 64-20 (.762) overall and 43-10 (.811) in conference play, advancing as far as the third round of the NCAA Division III Championships her freshman season. The Mansfield, Texas, native, player her prep basketball at Southwest Christian High School, where she was a multi-sport athlete, also participating in volleyball, track and field and softball. She led Southwest Christian HS to back-to-back state championships her junior and senior years. In total, she was a three-time First Team All-District selection, two-time All-State Tournament Team member, plus was named Newcomer of the Year. She also earned All-District honors in volleyball and softball, and was a state champion in track. Rosborough will major in sports management at Tarleton State University. She is the sixth signing announced by the Texans this offseason. Rosborough joins forward Alani Fluker, a transfer from San Jose State, guard Grace Booth, an incoming freshman from Glen Rose High School, guard Mar'Cyah "MiMi" Willis, an incoming freshman from La Vega High School, wing Kyriana Jones, a transfer from Dodge City CC and guard Niki Van Wyk, a graduate transfer from Black Hills State.
