UIL Legislative Council meeting results

AUSTIN, Texas — The University Interscholastic League Legislative Council met Tuesday to make decisions on proposed rule changes in UIL academics, athletics, music and policy. The Legislative Council approved an amendment to the reclassification and realignment policy as it relates to the conference placement of UIL member charter schools.

Kyrgios advances with 5-set victory

WIMBLEDON, England (AP) — Nick Kyrgios outlasted British wild-card entry Paul Jubb in five sets to advance to the second round at Wimbledon. The 27-year-old Australian won 3-6, 6-1, 7-5, 6-7 (3), 7-5 against his 219th-ranked opponent. Kyrgios broke Jubb in the sixth game of the deciding set to go ahead 4-2. He broke again with Jubb serving to try to stay in the match. The 22-year-old Jubb lost in the first round at Wimbledon in 2019 in his only other Grand Slam appearance.

Congress alleges ‘shadow’ probe by Commanders owner Snyder

A U.S. House committee says Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder conducted a “shadow investigation” that sought to discredit former employees making accusations of workplace sexual harassment. The committee released a memo ahead of a hearing Wednesday. The Committee on Oversight and Reform is investigating the Commanders’ workplace culture following accusations of pervasive sexual harassment by team executives of women employees. Snyder declined to testify at the hearing, but the committee plans to issue a subpoena to compel a deposition.
