Early runoff voting ends on Friday

Early voting in the May 24 primary runoff elections ends Friday, May 20. Under state law, voters who cast ballots in either party’s primary election must vote only in the same party’s runoff election. Voters who did not cast ballots in the primary may vote in either party’s runoff election.

Inflation blame game of President Biden

President Biden took to the stage this past week to blame inflation on anyone but his own failed policies. Americans don’t buy his diversions, or his embarrassing attempts to attribute responsibility to any host of targets. The president inherited a strong economy that he is singlehandedly destroying, a secure border that he is determined to make more porous, and a thriving energy sector that he is regulating out of business. His Democrat enablers in Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer continue to support this radical administration, even as the American people suffer under their watch. The Biden agenda has harmed every facet of American life, from rising gas prices to baby formula shortages.

A graduate’s perspective

Bittersweet is an understatement when describing my final year of high school coming to an end. I have been in the Stephenville Independent School District since 2013 (my 4th grade year). This community of parents, teachers, and fellow classmates has made my experience in Stephenville truly spectacular.

Uncle Mort and prayers for rain

My old Uncle Mort is nothing if not analytical, even when he’s not even looking for ways to make easy bucks. He called recently to provide his analysis of members of the Thicket Community Church whose pastor called for a special midweek prayer session appealing for rain. It would be at high noon on the church lawn.
