This time of year, I’ve been known to do some wool-gathering. Not because it’s cold — is it ever really cold in Texas? — but because I have so many rich, colorful memories, and I like to spend a little time recalling and being thankful.

December is the time of year when many families consider making cash gifts to their children or grandchildren. Such is the case with Mr. and Mrs. Bradshaw.
