Legislature funds next steps for Tarleton's proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine

Historic support for Tarleton State University continued in the 89th legislative session, including $5 million in non-formula support for the proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine (applicant status — seeking accreditation). The Texas Legislature has now committed over $17 million to Tarleton State for the sole purpose of enhancing rural healthcare across the state of Texas.

Turnbow-Higgs Post 240 remembers those who served

Stephenville's Turnbow-Higgs American Legion Post 240 led the 2025 Memorial Day Service, reminding the community that the holiday is about more than a day off work — it's about honoring the men and women who lost their lives while serving in the United States military. This year, the guest speaker was Army Major John Considine (Retired), who currently serves as a cadet training officer for the Texas Texan Corps of Engineers at Tarleton State University.
