The Stephenville girls’ basketball team won four of five games last week, capped by a Silver Bracket championship last weekend (Dec. 12-14) at the 11th Annual Battlin’ Billie Classic in Fredericksburg.

MIDLAND — The Canyon West Plains defense stopped Stephenville quarterback Ryan Gafford on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line with 1:20 to play, and the Wolves held off the Yellow Jackets 42-35 on Dec. 6 in the Class 4A Division I Region I championship football game at Astound Broadband Stadium.

The Stephenville girls’ basketball team finished last week with a 5-8 overall record after a 2-2 showing in the Glen Rose Lions Club Tournament Dec. 5-7.

The Stephenville girls’ basketball team ended a five-game losing skid on Tuesday, Nov. 25, when the Honeybees beat Venus 57-21 at Gandy Gym.
