DOG OF THE WEEK

Timbo is a 4- to 5-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix. He is a very loveable boy who is a bed hog and loves cuddles. He does have a tendency to jump on you to give kisses so he may not do well in a home with small children. He can also be a bit rough when playing as he tends to nip at arms. Timbo was dog tested in the shelter and he did good, but was aggressive with the dogs in his foster’s home. A meet & greet is recommended if you have other dogs. He can be pretty strong on a leash. Timbo knows basic commands like sit, stay, and gentle. He showed interest in chickens so he should not be housed with any small animals. He did not mind horses though. Previous owner kept him on heavy chain and he should not have to live life that way ever again. He is very vocal when he wants attention. Timbo’s fosters said that he is the best dog that they have met in a long time, and will be a GREAT dog for a family with in only dog home. Timbo is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. For more information or to adopt Timbo, contact the Erath County Humane Society at (254) 965-3247.

Toadus is a 2-year-old Pit Bull mix. He is a very sweet boy. He was given a ball recently and he takes it everywhere he goes, even when being rotated from an inside kennel to an outside kennel. He will play fetch with the ball but also just enjoys hanging on to it. Does well on a leash, but a harness is recommended. Toadus LOVES water and really enjoys getting sprayed with the hose. He loves scratches on the head and comfy beds to lounge in. He is super playful and enjoys playing with other dogs. Not sure how he does with cats or livestock. He does really well interacting with children and likes to lick their faces and steal their snacks. He is very energetic and needs an active home. Toads is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. We have him on sensitive stomach dog food.
