Stephenville High School has announced Rachel Tuggle as the Class of 2015 valedictorian. She has a 4.17 GPA and took part in a Q&A to talk about what she will most about high school and plans for the future.
How do you feel about being valedictorian of your graduating class?
It is all very surreal for me. I am blessed beyond measure and can only give credit to God for this. I would be nowhere without Him.
What will you miss most about high school?
I will miss the closeness I had with the Stingerettes. They were more than friends, they were sisters. I will miss dancing with them and will miss my En Croix Bible study group. It's impossible to replace friends like them.
What is your best memory from high school?
I don't have a single best memory that sums up my high school career. I've been involved in so much - Stings, UIL, NHS, yearbook - that there are a thousand memories to choose from. I enjoyed the regional UIL meet this past year, but I also loved competition dance practices and working with my yearbook staff.
What are your plans after graduation?
I will be attending Tarleton State University and earning a double major in English and Spanish. At seventeen, I don't know what the future holds for me, but I know it will involve teaching, writing and mission work.
What are you looking forward to about the future?
I am looking forward to traveling to Europe as part of Tarleton's study abroad program. Traveling has always been a dream of mine, and there are many opportunities that I plan on taking advantage of through Tarleton. I also can't wait to get started attending the college ministry program at my church, First Baptist.
What are your plans this summer?
I plan on working this summer and making memories with my friends before we go our separate ways. I am also going to spend the first week of summer finishing my high school yearbook.
