This E-T's pet of the week is actually three Kelpo puppies, meaning they are Kelpie and Border Collie mix. There are two females and one male.

“They’re working dogs,” said Paula Pater, Erath County Humane Society board president. “They came from a breeder that sends them all over the world, and these are the last three of the litter.”

The puppies are eight months old and are close to three-quarters fully grown. They weigh between 25 and 30 pounds.

“They have lots of energy,” said Prater, “they’re looking for a job.”

The blonde female is Kelpi, the black and white female is Katy, and the black and white male is Clancey.

“The blonde female is considered extremely rare,” Prater said, “and she is sweet as she can be.”

The ECHS has many pets available for adoption, including Lucky, last week’s featured pet.

“He seems to be really happy here but he still needs a home,” Prater said.

The ECHS is now operating under temporary hours - Monday through Friday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to noon.

They are closed Sunday and holidays.
