Bosque River Chapter President Toni Morgan of Glen Rose, Vice President Jane Klein of Hico and Registrar Judith D’Amico of Glen Rose recently represented the chapter at the 124th annual convention of Daughters of the Republic of Texas in San Antonio.

During the convention the chapter received the Texas History Award for marking graves with memorial medallions and for having a member enter the Republic of Texas Museum art contest.

Member Judith D’Amico’s watercolor, “They Could Not Have Imagined,” won first place in the senior division of District II.

The chapter also won second place for the Achievement Award for observing all Texas Honor Days, donating money to the Republic of Texas History Complex, donating a book on Texas history to a library and giving talks to other organizations about Texas history prior to 1900.

They were also recognized for 687 hours of volunteer service to DRT and for contributing to the President General’s Project.

Bosque River Chapter member Becky Farrar of Hico was honored for her 25 year membership in DRT.

Members of Bosque River Chapter live in Erath and surrounding counties.

Daughters of the Republic of Texas are women who are direct descendants of men or women who honorably served the Republic of Texas before February 1846.
