Rachel Evenson is leaving her senior year at Stephenville High School with a memory she will never forget — winning state on the FFA Meats Team.

“We’ve been trying to do it for a long time,” she said. “Stephenville has never had a Meats Team win state.”

At home, she and her family raise sheep so she does the extra work when she isn’t in school; however, she doesn’t wake up too early.

“My stepdad does,” she said laughing. “But I go out there in the evenings when I’m finished with everything.”

She will walk across the stage and receive her diploma soon and then will begin college in the fall.

“I’m going to school at Clarendon Junior College to judge and then after I go there I’m going to (Texas) Tech,” Evenson said. “I’m going to major in ag business and after that I’m thinking about going into law school—it has always interested me.” This summer she will continue working as an intern at a law office and take a family vacation to Missouri.
