MINERAL WELLS, Texas (AP) — A lingering storm system in North Texas has spawned at least two tornadoes, damaged buildings and flooded roads.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch Wednesday for the Dallas and Fort Worth areas.
Emergency personnel had no immediate reports of injuries from tornado-related damage Tuesday night in Mineral Wells, Runaway Bay and Booneville. The areas are about 50 miles west and north of Fort Worth.
Runaway Bay police say the roof of an apartment complex was torn off. A building in downtown Mineral Wells also lost its roof.
Forecaster Matt Stalley (STAHL'-ee) says crews would be out Wednesday trying to confirm the tornadoes and assess damage. Decatur had 5.1 inches of rain, with Bridgeport getting 4.8 inches.
Stalley also says spring is prime time for frequent severe weather.
