Funeral arrangements for Christain Champine have been set and will take place this weekend in his hometown of Huntsville.

There will be a visitation on Friday, May 15, from 5-8 p.m. at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Greater Zion Baptist Church.

Champine passed away last week in a tragic car accident on his way home after completing his freshman year at Tarleton State. He was traveling with his fellow freshman on the Texan Football team,Malik Brown, when the accident occurred. Brown was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan and treated for injuries.

Champine just completed his redshirt season for the Texans and was transitioning from wide receiver to defensive back during the spring. He was a 2014 graduate of Huntsville High School, where he and Brown were teammates.
