GLEN ROSE - Gail Ann Brown, a former resident of Stephenville, died May 11 at Dallas Baylor Medical Center.
Her family will receive friends for visitation at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 14, until the service begins at 2 p.m. at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. A brief ceremony and burial will take place at the Palisado Cemetery in Windsor, CT at a later date.
Born in 1936, in Providence RI and attended a Business College of Law in which she became the secretary of a reputable law firm.
She married Francis H. Brown, together they had four children. She assisted with operations of C Bar B Ranch of Gordon, TX from 1961 through 1968. Returning to RI due to health concerns for her son, she ran the Sommersett Racket Club. In 1976, the family relocated to Stephenville, in which she assisted in running the Brown Family Foods store.
In her last years she focused on being the President of the Resident's Committee for Cherokee Nursing Home.?Her passions include being a true Angler fisherman, sewing and knitting, movies, bingo, reading, her best friend and loyal companion "Blue" the cat, bible studies, crafting of beautiful artwork for loved ones and being the President of the Red Hat Society.?
She was a beautiful woman with eyes that could pierce the soul. She loved deeply and wholeheartedly her family and friends.?
Gail leaves behind her daughters Dorothy Brown Hoffman and husband Mike of Dublin, Kristen Brown Crowell of Justin, Judy Brown Harris and husband Matt of Justin, and her sister Judy Carr Wartes of Granbury, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.?
She was predeceased by her parents Willard B. Carr and Dorothy Carr Ritter, her son Willard "Bill" Francis Brown, sister Dorothy Archer and grandson Daniel Gregory Parent.?Donations can be provided to the Breast Cancer Society.
