Erath County remains under a flash flood watch through late tonight as more locally heavy rain is expected to move through the area.

"The ground remains saturated from excessive rainfall which has occurred across much of the region during the last week," an advisory from the National Weather Service states. "Be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued for your area."

Other counties under the watch include Eastland, Hood, Palo Pinto, Parker and Somervell.

City and county officials urge motorists to use caution and common sense when traveling on rain-washed streets and roads.
