A portion of the proceeds from Cody and Jenny Ohl’s 2015 bucking bull Steak Cookoff PBR Chute Out this weekend will help the family of four-year-old Madison "Maddy" Burt who had a cancerous brain tumor removed in late February and is now in chemotherapy.
There will also be an auction held in downtown Hico during the cookoff. Also, as is traditional with this event, part of the gate and entry-fee proceeds will go to create scholarships for graduating Hico seniors.
Cody Ohl said rain or shine, bulls will start bucking at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Ohl's ranch located at 3652 CR 208 in Hico.
"The top 40 bull riders in the world including JW Harris and JB Mauney will be here," Ohl said. "We will be handing out $19,000 in scholarships and $10,000 to Madison Burt and her family.”
In addition there will be a mutton busters' competition, calf scramble and a head-to-head match between Harris and Mauney.
“We hope that everyone is as excited to watch the head-to-head match between JW Harris and JB Mauney as we are,” Ohl said. “It's so awesome how these two men are donating the $10,000 prize money to help Madison Burt and her family with their medical bills.”
