The pet of the week is actually three! The Erath County Humane Society has several litters of puppies. One set includes four collie and blue healer mix and the other is a Australian shepherd mix.

“They’re all cattle dogs,” said Paula Prater, ECHS board president.

Pictured is the set of anatolian shepherd mix puppies. They are about six to eight weeks old and are “extremely sweet,” Prater said.

The anatolian shepherd breed grows to be large dogs, typically around 100 pounds and are “fearless.”

The group was playful Tuesday when the E-T came to visit.

“They’re always dancing and having fun, puppy style,” said Prater.

The ECHS has many animals in need of a permanent home.

“We need some help,” said Prater. “Please come adopt, and spay and neuter your pets.”

Not only does the ECHS have puppies and full grown dogs, they have lots of kittens and cats.

As always, the ECHS welcomes volunteers.
