Erath County commissioners tackled a short agenda Monday, approving the purchase of two new Tahoes for the Erath County Sheriff’s Office that were damaged beyond repair in recent hail storms.

The total cost for the two Tahoes plus equipment will be about $70,000. The sheriff’s office is in the process of stripping some of the usable equipment from the totaled vehicles.

Commissioners also discussed last weekend's storm damage.

“(Assessing the damage) is an ongoing process,” said facilities director and emergency management coordinator John Wooley. “Hopefully this weather is going to push up some roses instead of more flooding.”

He added that there was damage sustained to the Morgan Mill Fire Department, but they’re still up and running.
