I am writing this because there is a need in Stephenville to have good leadership. We have a great start. Our city council has some good people with common sense at this time and we need to keep moving in a positive direction.

Our city is in a position to grow. The opportunities are limitless with the right leadership. With that said, there is an election coming up and we need to make sure the right people get elected.

I know some of you probably do not know my good friend Rhett Harrison. Rhett is a very smart, well-educated young man who has a Business degree. He and his wife, Tessa, are good Christian parents raising their eight year old son, Rob, in a Christian atmosphere. Rhett is a self-employed businessman with good management skills and good common sense.

I have seen Rhett in action. He is a mover and shaker; he gets things done, and just what we need on the city council. Rhett is conservative and he knows how to negotiate, something we have been lacking on the city council until recently. Most of all, Rhett is a man you can trust.

He, as a councilman, would not have to abstain from voting or profit in any manner because of his business. With Rhett, what you see is what you get.

His word is his bond and you can take that to the bank!

I have been a successful businessman in Stephenville for 54 years and have seen

Stephenville lose many opportunities to bring businesses and jobs, like Lowe's, into the city because of our city council not understanding how to negotiate with big companies.

I think the new council we have, with the help of Rhett Harrison, will be willing and able to help Stephenville grow, by enticing businesses and industries to Stephenville that will provide jobs and opportunities for prosperity for all the people of Stephenville. More jobs mean more income and lower taxes for all of us.

Praise God for this great country we live in and the men and women who served to give it.

Jimmy Walker,

Stephenville
