Communities nationwide came together Thursday for National Day of Prayer.
The event began in Stephenville at 7 a.m. at the courthouse and continued every hour at scheduled churches throughout the day.
“We need to have a whole day of prayer every day,” said Gene Ruggles, associate pastor of the Cowboy Church of Erath County. “We need to lift up all of our leaders, from the top all the way to the bottom. God ordains our leaders, and we need to pray for them.”
As the faithful gathered at Rocky Point Baptist Church, Dublin resident Sonia Evans said, “I think this is a good thing that there’s a community-wide focus. We’re fortunate to live in a community that has a Christian base.”
