ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - The TexAnn Golf team is tied for sixth in the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament after carding and opening-round score of 307 (+19) at the Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park, Calif.

Sonoma State, the regional host, and Academy of Art are tied for first out of nine teams with a 6-over-par 294.

Tarleton State is ranked fourth in the West Region, with Lone Star Conference members Midwestern State (6) and West Texas A&M (7) also competing in the West Regional Tournament. Midwestern State is in third (300, +12) and West Texas A&M is tied for fourth (303, +15).

Isabel Jimenez-Perea, the three-time LSC Player of the Year, is tied for ninth after shooting a 2-over-par 72. Jimenez-Perea's 16 pars are tied for most in the opening round.

Midwestern State's Brenna Moore and Academy of Art's Crystal Wang top the individual leaderboard with a 3-under-par 69.

Beatriz Prados, a First Team All LSC selection, is tied for 12th with a 76 (+4) first round score. Prados had 13 pars to open the tournament.

The LSC Freshman of the year, Casey Wild, shot a 6-over-par 78 and ranks 31st.

Sarah Gee's 79 (+7) and Kerbey Kipp's 81 (+9) have them ranked 34th and 39th, respectively. Gee and Kipp each had two birdies.

The TexAnns recorded the most pars on the day with 58, five more than second place Dallas Baptist.

Tarleton State will compete in the 3-round tournament throughWednesday, May 6.

The top three teams and the top three individuals from non-advancing teams will move on to the national championship at Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Mich. on May 13-16.
