The Erath County Sheriff's Office has been invited to attend the International Association of Chiefs of Police convention in Arlington where officials will talk about security surrounding the capital murder trial of Eddie Ray Routh.
"They want us to talk about how we prepared for and handled security for such a high-profile trial," Sheriff Tommy Bryant said Tuesday.
Bryant said local law enforcement agencies including DPS and the Stephenville Police Department worked together for more than a year to come up with an in-depth security plan for the two-week trial.
Now, they will share what they learned with other agencies.
Chief Deputy Jason Upshaw and Lt. Randy Fowler are expected to give the presentation in June.
"I can't think of anything we could have done that would have made it any better," Bryant said. "I am proud of how things went."
