The Honeybees dropped their first game in a three game series against Burkburnett Friday night by a score of 4-2.

The match-up was close throughout, but a breakout third inning put the Bulldogs on top 3-0 and had the Bees playing catch-up for the rest of the night.

Stephenville put up their first run in the fifth inning and then added another in the sixth to pull within one of Burkburnett.

After scoring their run in the sixth, the Bees had their best opportunity of the night to draw level or even take the lead as they loaded the bases with one out. However, a strikeout and a ground ball out limited the damage and Burkburnett eventually came away victorious.

The second game of the series will be played at 3 p.m. in Graford. Game three, if necessary, will start 30 minutes after the preceding game.
