Fresh off a 30-point domination of Dallas Christian University a week ago, Tarleton takes to the court again Friday for the first of two weekend games as part of TSUís Thanksgiving Classic.
Tarleton plays Pittsbug state in a 7 p.m. Friday matchup, and on Saturday against Northwest Nazarene University, also set for 7 p.m.
The Texans jumped to No. 8 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches rankings after topping DC and improving to 3-0 on the young season.
Tarleton opened the season, and spent the last two weeks, at No. 12 in the nation. Since the preseason polls were released, TSU has won its first three games of the season over New Mexico Highlands, Lubbock Christian and Dallas Christian for its ninth 3-0 start to a season in the last 10 years.
Tarletonís offense is led by a trio of double-digit scorers in Tashawn Mabry, Davene Carter and Michael Hardge.
Their Friday opponent, Pittsburg State, is 1-2 for the year, while Northwest Nazarene comes in at 1-4, including a 78-75 loss to the College of Idaho on Monday
Other games at the weekend event in Stephenville feature Texas A&M Kingsville vs. Northwest Nazarene at 5 p.m. Friday and Pittsburg State vs. Kingsville at 5 p.m. Saturday.
