Tarleton’s TexAnns face some stout competition this weekend as they travel to the South Plains to compete in the Lubbock Christian University Classic Friday and Saturday.
The TexAnns face host LCU Friday at 7:30, then return to the gym Saturday to take on the University of Texas-Permian Basin in a game with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff
The Lady Chaps carry a 5-1 mark into Friday’s battle against TSU. They have topped the 90-point mark in two games so far. Their last outing was a 71-57 victory over Lone Star Conference member Angelo State on Monday.
UTPB is unbeaten in three outings, the last a 76-55 laugher over New Mexico Highlands a week past.
Tarleton enters the event at 1-2, including its 78-70 win over Texas Wesleyan University a week ago.
Stacey Darnley lit up the scoreboard for 18 points against TWU and teammate Kashyla Fields added 13 in the win.
Other games at the four-team event in Lubbock include UTPB vs. Eastern New Mexico at 5:30 Friday and ENMU vs. LCU at 7:30 Saturday.
The TexAnns return home Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. non-conference battle against Arlington Baptist.
