He’s baaaack.

Stephenville quarterback Jarrett Stidham made a surprise return to the field last week.

But his being named the E-T Offensive Player of the Week is no surprise.

Stidham, who came in for Anthony Chavarria early in the first quarter of the Yellow Jackets’ 69-60 area-round win over Lubbock Estacado, had undergone surgery for a broken bone in his hand just a few weeks prior.

But if his performance Friday is any indication, he is healed.

Stidham completed 18 of 25 passes in his triumphant return, accumulating 341 yards and six touchdowns to five different receivers. In addition, he collected touchdown runs of 17, 21 and 50 yards. That translates into Stidham being personally involved in nine of Stephenville’s 10 TDs last Friday.

For the season, the Texas Tech commit has thrown for 2,504 yards and 30 touchdowns, and has rushed for 769 yards an another 11 scores.
