Susan Wynne, treasurer of the Community Animal Rescue Effort, addressed commissioners Monday asking for support in the way of funding.
CARE is a non-profit and volunteer organization dedicated to giving proper care and shelter to stray, abandoned, abused or neglected animals.
“All of our staff are volunteers,” said Wynne. “And all of our money comes from either grants, fundraisers or contributions.”
CARE is located in Palo Pinto County, but has picked up stray dogs in and around Erath County. They foster animals and provide their food and medical care.
“Just contact us and we provide everything,” said Wynne. “We have foster families in Stephenville, Dublin, Lipan and Morgan Mill.”
Commissioners did not commit to funding CARE and will consider the request at a later date.
