This year’s Fourth of July celebration will be packed with fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. The annual parade will start at 9:30 a.m. and run from St. Felix to Graham Street. Following that will be the Christian Classic Car Show from noon-3 p.m. at City Park. Also taking place in the park are lawnmower races (practice at 1 p.m., racing at 3 p.m.), Texstar Ford Summer Concert series featuring Larry Joe Taylor, The Tejas brothers and Mo Howard from 6-10 p.m. at Birdsong Amphitheater and a fireworks show starting at 10 p.m.
“We typically have 2,000 people for the fireworks show; maybe more,” said Drew Wells, director of community services.
Wells said they have more than 100 parade entries, which include antique cars and tractors, floats and participation from local organizations.
Along with the celebration, Splashville will be open from 1:30-6:30 p.m., according to Manager D’anna Green.
“It’s the biggest event of the year as far as spectators and participants coming to an event,” Wells said.
