SINTON, Texas (AP) — An evidence tampering charge has been filed against the wife of a man accused in a South Texas park attack that left a woman dead and her girlfriend hurt.
San Patricio County jail records show Laura and David Strickland were held without bond Wednesday.
Investigators originally announced David Strickland was arrested last Friday in Helotes (hel-OH'-tis). He's charged with capital murder, aggravated assault with a weapon and aggravated sexual assault over the 2012 attack in Portland.
Laura Strickland is charged with evidence tampering in the case involving two women who allegedly were sexually assaulted and shot.
Authorities say the Stricklands lived near the park where 19-year-old Mollie Olgin was slain. An 18-year-old woman was wounded.
No possible motive was released. Investigators have said they do not suspect a hate crime.
