Veterans of the Korean War that were photographed at the Erath County Courthouse on June 6 are eligible for a free 8X10 photo courtesy of Major George B. Erath 2679 chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy. The gift of a free photo for WWII veterans whose picture was made last year at the courthouse are also eligible for a free 8X10 photo at Miller Studio.
"Our ladies decided that this would be something that they could do to show our veterans that we appreciate them and the service that they have given to our country, said UDC chapter president Joyce Whitis. "We appreciate all our servicemen and women who keep us free. We hope that these photographs will be something they will treasure. One of the goals for our UDC chapter is to honor our veterans."
Joan Livingston is preparing the photos and they will be ready to pick up at her studio beginning Tuesday, June 24, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
If the veteran is deceased, a close relative may pick up the photo.
