LAREDO, Texas (AP) — Federal prosecutors say 25 people have been arrested on charges linked to a South Texas drug ring catering to customers in the Laredo area.
Prosecutors say two dozen defendants face initial court appearances Wednesday in Laredo.
An indictment returned in April was unsealed Tuesday as the arrests began. Authorities say 24 suspects charged with drug conspiracy-related counts are from Laredo and are linked to the cocaine and marijuana ring allegedly operating since 2012.
Federal prosecutors say a 25th suspect from Laredo has been arrested on a charge of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
