Another leader in the Stephenville ISD ranks will leave the district at the end of the month.

Stephenville High School principal Travis Stilwell has confirmed that he will leave his post to become the next superintendent at Tolar ISD on July 1.

The decision to leave SHS was a difficult decision for Stilwell, he said.

"I coached in Tolar 15 years ago and when I was there I made a lot of great friendships and gained a large amount of respect for the community," Stilwell said. "They have a strong district and a reputation for student success and I'm excited to be joining their district."

Former superintendent Dr. Darrell Floyd recently left the district to accept a superintendent position in Enid, Oklahoma.

"It's been great here at Stephenville High School," Stilwell said. "I'm very thankful to have served in SISD the past 11 years. I've created many great friendships and wish SHS and SISD nothing but the best moving forward."

Immediate information about the district's plan to hire a new principal is not yet known.
