The honors continue to pour in for one of the top softball players in Stephenville High School history.

Center fielder Ashlynn Mayfield, who graduated last weekend, was named all-state for the second straight season by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, which released its honors Thursday night at TGCA.com.

Earlier this week, the same organization named Mayfield to its 1A-2A-3A all-star game in Arlington in July.

Mayfield, the District 7-3A MVP, led the Honeybees in batting average (.489), on-base percentage (.539), slugging percentage among players with more than 10 at bats (.641), hits (45), triples (5) and runs scored (37).

Mayfield led the Bees to second place in 7-3A and to the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. Regional semifinalist Lampasas eliminated them in the bi-district round.

The July all-star game won't be the last stop on Mayfield's softball journey. She has signed a national letter of intent to play at Lubbock Christian, a member of the Heartland Conference and NCAA Division II.
