Ashlynn Mayfield hasn't played her final high school softball game just yet.

The Honeybee senior and MVP of District 7-3A has been selected to compete for the "Blue" team in the Texas Girls Coaches Association 1A-2A-3A All-Star Game. The event is set for 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, at Workman Park in Arlington.

"This is a huge accomplishment for Ashlynn and for our program, too," said Stephenville head coach Rus Mayes. "Any time you get the program's name out in the softball community it's a step toward building what we want to build."

Mayfield was all-state as a junior. All-state teams for the 2014-15 season have not yet been released by the TGCA or the Texas Sportswriters Association. The center fielder has signed to compete for Lubbock Christian of NCAA Division II and the Heartland Conference.

Known for her speed and slapping ability at the plate, Mayfield hit .489 as a senior, and drew 10 walks to push her on-base percentage to .539. She led Stephenville in both those categories as well as hits with 45, and runs with 37.

"This is a testament to Ashlynn and all the dedication and years of hard work, and it's a testament to her parents (Dean and Lori Mayfield) who worked with her and kept her active with traveling teams and more in summer ball.

"Ashlynn still has a bright future," Mayes added. "I know she'll represent Stephenville well at the next level, and I feel like her best ball is still ahead of her."
